The European AI and Society Fund is a collaborative fund, which means a group of foundations have come together to pool their resources to support our mission. Since being set up in 2020, 15 partners have contributed over €7.5 million to support our work.

Each of our partners joins our Steering Committee which helps set the strategic direction of our work and has the opportunity to join working groups for example selecting new grantees. We are hosted by the Network of European Foundations, an association of leading European foundations dedicated to strengthening philanthropic cooperation, which supports our financial and administrative processes.
The European AI & Society Fund is committed to engaging a greater number and more diverse range of philanthropic institutions to sustain civil society work in Europe on policy related to AI. We are always keen to welcome new partners to the fund so please get in touch if you would like to know more about our work.
We also share insights from our work to help other funders better understand the needs and opportunities for civil society working on AI. We regularly host online learning lunches for funders featuring experts on a variety of topics at the intersection of artificial intelligence and social justice. We are active participants in networks such as Philea and Ariadne and publish our findings on our blog and through our newsletter.
