Introducing our new Co-Director: Evelyne Paradis

We are delighted to welcome Evelyne Paradis as co-director of the European AI & Society Fund.

Evelyne joins our current director Catherine Miller as the Fund moves to a co-leadership model at the start of its new five-year strategy.

Evelyne has spent more than twenty years working across organisational leadership, governance and social justice advocacy.

Her experience includes a range of roles within the human rights and equality sector, most notably 14 years as Executive Director of ILGA-Europe, the European and Central Asian LGBTI organisation.

Evelyne Paradis said: “I’m excited to be joining the European AI & Society Fund at a pivotal moment in history – the choices we make about technology and power now will shape our societies for generations.

What has driven my work throughout my career is a belief in the power of people to create change, especially when they are equipped with the right tools, resources, and connections to those who hold influence and decision-making power. The European AI & Society Fund is doing exactly that through thoughtful, strategic, and impactful work.

I’m joining an incredible team of deeply committed people, and I’m especially looking forward to partnering with Catherine, whose leadership and vision have made the Fund what it is today. I look forward to shaping the next chapter together and further deepening the impact of the Fund.”

In recent years, Evelyne has supported civil society organisations and intergovernmental bodies in strengthening governance practices, resource mobilisation, and organisational and strategy development. She has a long track record of working closely with movements and enabling them to drive change at structural levels.

Co-leadership will allow the European AI & Society Fund to build on our achievements and scale and sustain the work that’s needed to meet the challenges that AI poses to people society and planet,” said Catherine Miller, co-director of the European AI & Society Fund who has been running the organisation since 2022.

Evelyne brings a wealth of experience and a brilliant strategic mind to the team and we’re so excited to be working with her.”

Meet the rest of the European AI & Society Fund team.
